Here are some teen job connections to pass along to youth in or near NE Minneapolis or St. Paul. ArtsWork is an arts employment program for youth ages 14-21. The upcoming season takes place this year from June 20 through August 12.
For the summer of 2011, we will be offering theater production in St. Paul and mosaic art in Northeast Minneapolis. Each of these sites will be hiring ten (10) youth. Pay is $7.25 per hour and is scheduled for 20 hours per week. Details about the exact work hours will be shared on our website as information comes available.
In St. Paul, there are two programs for low-income youth.
Art Bikes will have twelve openings and is a partnership with the Sibley Bike Depot on University Avenue. This site is only open to City of St. Paul Youth Job Corps workers.
Public Art Design and Creation is open to low income youth from any part of the metro are who qualify for either St. Paul Youth Job Corps or Minneapolis Step-Up.
There is an application and interview process to be hired, and it’s a great experience for youth to practice writing cover letters and resumes. Dates and times for interviews will take place in May and the details will be made available in early April.
Informational sessions are set for the dates below and by appointment with groups, classes or students as needed. Attendees should RSVP to Betsy Mowry at [email protected] or 651-292-3259. Also visit www.compas.org/arts-work.
