As our fiscal year comes to a close, we are once again reminded of how gracious this community is. We have just come off of our most successful show in Mu’s history, Into the Woods. Park Square Theatre opened their doors to us and a record-breaking audience came in droves to enjoy the show.
Mu provides our performers with unique casting opportunities in the Minnesota arts community. The critical and audience praise of these performers’ immense talent is wonderfully gratifying. And by providing opportunities for both artists and audiences to experience something new, we are changing the landscape of Minnesota’s artistic community.
Not only were we successful in our theater efforts, but Mu Daiko also had a phenomenal season. We had a record breaking show at the Ordway’s McKnight Theatre, hosted international guests Hanayui from Japan, and conducted our first statewide tour. We led nine taiko residencies in schools and senior centers, many of which were subsidized by outside funding. And we had one of the busiest outreach schedules in recent memory.
Each success for Mu becomes a success for our mission and vision, which is to share the Asian American experience with an ever-expanding audience. Each success validates the talent, dedication, and artistry of our actors and taiko performers.
Our fiscal year ends on August 31st. Just a few short days away. Your support helps to pay for the productions, the taiko shows, the residencies in schools, and the opportunities that we provide to artists.
Thank you for helping us make this year special. It truly was.
