Gisele Tongi and Dr. Tess Mauricio, RSVP's hosts, will ask viewers in the Filipino community to respond and voice their concerns, issues and praises about the latest trends in fashion, beauty, health, and family.
Dr. Tess Mauricio, dermatologist, physician educator and television personality, will debut a half-hour magazine talk show on The Filipino Channel starting Sept. 10. “RSVP” will feature in-studio guest hosts and discussions on the latest topics and news happening in the Philippines, the United States and beyond.
She will be sharing the stage with co-host, Gisele Tongi, a popular Filipino actress, model and television host who has starred in over 20 Philippine movies and television programs.
“I am thrilled to be a part of a show that addresses issues of importance to Filipino women,” said Dr. Mauricio. “RSVP will give viewers a platform to voice their concerns, issues and praises about what is happening in their lives.”
RSVP will be a venue for some of the most important and talked about Filipino celebrities to discuss their lives and ongoing projects. Each week, the hosts will ask each other and the audience to “RSVP” and respond to different issues that cater to the Asian community in the United States.
The show will have an interactive element as guests will be able to ask questions to the hosts via Twitter and Facebook. In addition, the hosts will respond to the latest trends in fashion, entertainment, beauty, health, food, money, family, culture, immigration and the community.
The 2011-12 season will feature guests such as Gretchen Rossi of Real Housewives of Orange County, Filipino Vice President Jejomar Binay, Actress Taryn Manning, and Antoinette Taus, Philippine Pop Star.
The show has been created by the Emmy Award-winning producer of the Tyra Banks Show, Michael Carandang, who is currently the producer for the CW’s hit reality competition show, America’s Next Top Model.
RSVP will air on Saturdays starting Sept. 10 at 2:05 to 2:35 pm on The Filipino Channel.
Dr. Mauricio is no stranger to television and has made many appearances on nationally syndicated talk shows including the Rachel Ray Show and The Doctors. She is a graduate of Stanford University School of Medicine and a Summa Cum Laude graduate of the University of California San Diego.
