MINNEAPOLIS — Mu Performing Arts Kicks Off Holidays with its popular annual cabaret, “A Very Asian Christmas Concert” for two performances, Nov. 30 at 7:30 p.m., and Dec. 1 at 2 p.m., at The Southern Theater, 1420 Washington Ave S, Minneapolis, MN 55454.
Randy Reyes directs and reprises his role as hostess and chanteuse Jasmine, hosting the Affordable Flair Act, an irreverent evening of holiday music and laughter. Mu Daiko taiko also performs with a talented ensemble of Mu actors appearing as Jasmine’s friends and relatives.
The show also features the music direction by Anita Ruth, who leads a jazz trio.
Performers include Mu regulars Katie Bradley, Suzie Juul, Isabella Dawis, Francesca Dawis, Alex Galick, Kurt Kwan, and Sara Ochs and new this year, Mu Daiko members Iris Shiraishi, Heather Jeche, Chiaki O’Brien, and Arlene Teraoka. The production team includes regular Mu collaborators: Lisa Smith (Stage Manager), Karin Olson (Lighting Designer), and Forest Godfrey (Sound Designer).
Holiday revelers will enjoy a new and improved variety show complete with complimentary drinks and light appetizers. ($5 suggested donation)
