HOUSTON, Nov. 14, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Houston’s diverse arts scene rivals any in Texas, and some would say the world. From its public art, to the 19-member Houston Museum District, to its smaller galleries and working artist studios, the city’s many treasures are featured on “Houston Arts Television” on Houston’s Voice.
The next episode of “Houston Arts Television” features Asia Society Texas Center, a stunning new multi-purpose venue, complete with a 300-seat theatre and art exhibition space, in the Museum District. “Our Asia Society Texas Center program, the third in our series, should be broadcast on Houston PBS by the end of the year,” according to Kim Lykins of Texas Foundation for the Arts.
Texas Foundation for the Arts’ “Houston Arts Television” series, created in collaboration with PBS, documents Houston’s highly creative arts scene, from working artists to the wealth of top tier organizations and institutions, large and small, that populate the Houston landscape.
In addition, “Houston Arts Television” audiences meet leaders in the local art community including museum directors and contemporary artists. Those who have not yet experienced one of Houston’s many museums are encouraged to get out and explore by seeing samples of their exhibits. “Houston Arts Television” features the Menil Collection, Houston Center for Contemporary Craft, the city’s public art collection, and more.
