Vibha-Minnesota presents Taal, a dance and music competition for children on April 21, starting 9:30 a.m. at the University of Minnesota St. Paul Campus Student Center, 2017 Buford Avenue, St. Paul, MN 55108.
Taal is the perfect opportunity for your child-student to connect to their Indian roots, learn about the not-so-fortunate children in other parts of the world and of course, have a lot of fun.
The competition provides a platform for these children to showcase their talent and hone their skills. Awards will be given away in several categories and all performers would receive a certificate of appreciation for participating in the event.
The competition is open to kids between ages 4 and 16. The 4 categories are: Classical Solo Dance; Group Dance (Classical or Folk/Bollywood Dance); Solo Song (Classical or Non-Classical/Light music); and, Group Song (Classical or Non-Classical/Light music).
There are limited slots available for each category of the competition, so send in your entries as soon as possible. Registrations will be accepted on a first-come-first-served basis.
By registering, a participant agrees to abide by the rules set forth by Vibha governing the competition. Taal registrations will be accepted till midnight on April 10, 2012 or until slots for a given category are still available – whichever occurs earlier.
The participation costs, deadlines, rules, registration and other details are available at http://minnesota.vibha.org/taal. For more information contact the Vibha-MN Taal 2012 team leaders Sindhu Nair and Nithya Rajan at [email protected].
The event is organized by the Twin Cities chapter of Vibha, a 501©(3) non-profit organization with a mission to ensure education, health and opportunity for every underprivileged child. Vibha needs public support to make this event a success.
Volunteers organize events, drives and campaigns in Twin Cities, Minnesota and create awareness about the cause, as well as raise much needed funds to support grassroots projects in India and the United States.
