MINNEAPOLIS — The Hong Kong Ballet will be the first performance of the 2014-14 Season on Nov 6 and 7 at the Northrop Auditorium, 4 Church Street SE, Minneapolis, MN 55455. This is the first ballet of our 14-15 dance season, and it will really showcase the beauty of Northrop’s capabilities. Performances will be held Thursday, Nov. 6 at 7:30 p.m., and Friday, November 8 at 8 p.m.
The Hong Kong Ballet will be performing the exciting romantic story ballet, Turandot, an adaptation of Puccini’s gorgeous opera. Turandot is a story of power, lust, and revenge with visually stunning sets, drama, and exquisite pointe and partnering work. The dazzling spectacle of Turandot revolves around the love triangle surrounding the princess Turandot, who shuns potential lovers with her heart of ice. The Hong Kong Ballet is one of the most well known ballet companies in Asia and is becoming internationally recognized as a world-class institution.
All Northrop Dance performances include a free Performance Preview in the Best Buy Theater, beginning one hour and 15 minutes before the show time, where the artists or dance company will share insight about the evening’s performance and more.
