LOS ANGELES (Aug. 16, 2011) — Marilyn Tam’s new book, “Living the Life of Your Dreams – The Secrets to Turning Your Dreams into Reality” (Waterside Productions) has reached #21 on Amazon’s bestseller list of Self Help and Success categories on the day of launch and is nominated for ebook of the Year in three categories.
“What a wonderful intro to the book launch on Tuesday, August 16th with this news,” said Tam, author also of “How to Get What You Want With What You’ve Got,” which provided her basic principles for success in business and life: Telling the truth, Making partners, Make big mistakes based on faith and knowledge, and Live by your own sword and not that of others.
With “Living the Life of Your Dreams”, the book is more brief but as powerful in providing more insight that Tam has gained from years of business, public speaking and experience with people on exploring how to improve your life and be happier, with more fulfilling relationships, inner peace and with success in business and money.
Tam said that she wrote the book because in both her work speaking and consulting globally and with humanitarian work, she has heard many people share concerns about incessant demands on their time, energy and resources. She said the constant pressure to be doing more than one is capable of is stretching people beyond their comfort zone and ability to feel that they are living a life of balance.
“The inner questioning of whether one can ever climb out of the hole of wanting and trying to gain some measure of financial stability, health, fulfilling relationships, inner peace, joy and a meaning for life is pervasive in the population,” said Tam. “This hunger and fear are driving the collective unconsciousness.”

Having experienced this same feeling more than once and finding out ways to be centered and at peace amidst all the chaos and urgent demands, Tam said she set out to share insights and wisdom she has gained from other experts and from her own experience with others.
“So that they may have dynamic balance in their lives so that they too can achieve the Life of their Dreams. hence the book, “Living the Life of Your Dreams”, she said.
Tam looks as vibrant and with more energy and vitality today as she did before starting a stress filled career as a corporate executive years ago. She says its all part of her healthy outlook on life, and she now teaches others the tools, action steps and secrets on to how to achieve your dream life.
As a Fortune 500 executive Tam worked her way up from a retail clerk to Vice president of Nike, President of Reebok Apparel & Retail Group and CEO of Aveda. She is now CEO of her own company and the co-Founder and Executive Director of Us Foundation, a global non-profit organization devoted to youth issues, education, environmental issues and conditions for peace.
As a consultant and motivational speaker on leadership, diversity, change management, and the integration of social and environmental concerns into business profitability, Tam’s journey started with humble beginnings as the second daughter of a traditional Hong Kong family. She said no to her destiny of working in the factories and was motivated by her dream of working in international relief.
Tam worked her way to Oregon State University to earn a Masters in Economics, and said no again to the complacent acceptance of a woman’s place in the corporate world. She overcame “glass ceilings and glass walls” by encouraging and supporting the best of the people around her to achieve the best interests of the company and the community. Her unlikely rise at a time when virtually no women, Asian Americans or persons of color were in corporate hierarchy made people want to know her recipe for success.
Tam has put together a bunch of free gifts for anyone who visits her webpage. These gifts are full of inspiring and useful secrets of healthy, happy and successful living from Jack Canfield, Joan Borysenko, and other experts.
